A Jeddah-based Indian community organization has organized an Urdu poetry session, called mushaira, on Thursday, Aug. 7, at Star Restaurant in Aziziah district.

According to Mahtab Qadr, vice president of Telangana United Forum (TUF), Dr. Irshad Ahmad, consul, press, information and culture, at the Indian Consulate in Jeddah, will be the chief guest.

Dr. Kaleem Zia, a visiting scholar and poet from India, will be the guest of honor, he said.

Prominent poets, including Mohammed Mujahid Syed, Naeem Bazidpuri, Anwar Ansari, Nasir Burney Beg, Irfan Barabankvi and humorist Iqbal Bailan, will take part in the event which begins at 9 p.m.
