JEDDAH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah promoted Maj. Gen. Muhammad bin Khaled Al-Nahid to the rank of lieutenant general and appointed him as the new chief of the General Authority for Military Affairs at the National Guard after relieving Lt. Gen. Suleiman bin Muhammad Zaeer of that position, according to a royal decreed reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Thursday.

The king also appointed Ibrahim bin Abdul Rahman Dawood as adviser to the minister of Interior, the agency reported.
