JEDDAH: The father of Nawaf Al-Sulami, the child who died on a school bus in Jeddah, is refusing blood money and wants someone held accountable for the death of his son. Interviewed by telephone on a local television show recently, he said that the bus driver had been released on bail and is presumed innocent. However, he called for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, insisting that his son died from suffocation because he had been left on the bus by the driver.

He rejected reports claiming that the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution had acquitted the driver because medical reports found the boy had died of natural causes. “This news is not true, and we will file a suit against the newspaper and the writer.” He said acquittals were issued by the courts, not the prosecuting authority.
