RIYADH: A new attaché at the Cultural Office in London stressed the need to help Saudi students under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program.
“Extending assistance to Saudi scholars is in line with the policies followed under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program,” said Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Naeem, the new Saudi cultural attaché in Britain.
He made the announcement during recent meetings with the staff of the Kingdom’s cultural office as well as with young Saudis in scholarship programs in Britain.
During a meeting with cultural office staff, he stressed the need for teamwork to discharge whatever they had been expected to accomplish satisfactorily.
“Teamwork helps us to accomplish what’s expected from you, which is to nurture the culture of scholarship and for the students to enjoy the maximum benefits of studying under the program,” he said.
He added that “we are also expected to ensure that the students on scholarship enjoy their stay abroad even if they’re away from home.”
The staff replied that they were fully aware of their responsibilities and that they were committed to discharge them.
In reaction, students expressed happiness regarding the cultural attaché’s concern on their behalf.
Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani, a researcher with a Ph.D in digital media, said, “Scholarship students are happy.
The concern for us means certain benefits and privileges such as access to club facilities, review centers, among others.”
He also expressed hope that they could freely see and meet the cultural attaché on anything that concerns them at any time.
