RIYADH: Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah visited recently the Saudi Commission for Health Specialities (SCHS) whose officials briefed him on SCHS’s working mechanism.
SCHS Secretary General Dr. Ayman bin Asaad Abdo, who’s also SCHS chairman of the Board of Trustees, received Al-Rabiah and expressed satisfaction regarding the health minister’s visit.
During the meeting, Al-Rabiah commended SCHS’s significant role and its contributions to the health sector in the Kingdom as well as assistance to local doctors, nurses, among others.
Also present during the meeting were SCHS officials who included Deputy Secretary General Prof. Dr. Suliman Al-Omran; Assistant Secretary General Zaher Al-Barqi, also the finance committee chair; Assistant Secretary General for Higher Studies Mohammed Sultan; Assistant Secretary General for Classification and Registration Dr. Yasser Tashkandi; and Abdullah Alzhian, director of public relations and official spokesman.
Al-Rabiah also lauded SCHS for the training given to health practitioners so that they become more knowledgeable and competitive in their work as well as the certificate of competence issued them at the completion of their course.
“It goes without saying that all efforts of SCHS, its officials and staff are deeply appreciated and, to use an understatement, I am thankful indeed,” Al-Rabiah said.
He added that “the health sector’s contribution for the dreams and aspirations under the Vision 2030 plan will be highly appreciated.”
A statement issued by the SCHS said that the courses administered to health practitioners match those of the global programs.
Al-Rabiah also made a tour of the various facilities at the SCHS, which is the largest of its kind in the Middle East, and observed the ongoing clinical examinations in the laboratories.
