JEDDAH: The Traffic Department is studying proposals that may add more offenses to the current list of 11, according to a report in a local publication on Wednesday.
Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al-Zahrani, director general of the traffic directorate in the Kingdom, would not provide details because discussions were still taking place, but said that it would help ease congestion and make the nation’s roads safer.
Speaking at the launch of a division in Aziziyah, south of Riyadh, on Tuesday, he said that discussions were also taking between various bodies to reduce vehicle insurance premiums. In addition, he said notices on vehicles stating “Driver in Training” are against the law and should be removed.
