Playful dolphins, jumping sardines on Qamah Island amaze tourists

Qamah Island in the Fursan Archipelago off Jazan is a haven for tourists because of the playful dolphins and jumping sardines which can be seen in documentary films and on nature television channels.
The birds also catch tourist’s attention in Qamah as they watch the sunset with plentiful sardines jumping on the surface of the waves. But the dolphins are so friendly that they actually swim around the boats carrying families on trips around the island.
Boat owner Yasser Muja who brings in tourists to the island said: “I receive tourists after they register with the border guards and make them put on safety jackets to go around the islands. When they decide which one they want to stay on, I leave them there and come back for them later.” He added that the visitors he had taken with him to the islands including Qamah have told him repeatedly that they want to go back there again for the total relaxation and peace of mind these islands offer.
The Fursan Archipelago receives many local visitors in the summer. Pure and serene shorelines dominate the more than 200 islands, complete with shallow waters and the endless stretches of golden sands.
The visiting onlooker finds tens of boats moving in all directions with families, youths, friends and colleagues going to some island or other.
Young Ahmad Aldo decided this time to spend his weekend between the Fursan and Damsk islands to enjoy his holiday even though he is a frequent visitor there.
