A newborn baby was found abandoned at a petrol pump in the northwestern city of Taymaa, a large oasis with a long history of settlement in the Kingdom.
According to local media, the station's staff members were shocked when they saw the baby boy near one of the pumps on Saturday. They immediately called the police and ambulance services.
The police found the boy in good condition and took him to a local hospital. Doctors said he was seven hours old. He would be kept at the hospital under observation and then handed over to the Social Affairs Ministry.
The local police have launched an investigation to trace the parents of the child.
