RIYADH: In a new government move, female orphans above the age of 18 years will be given vocational training to qualify them to enter the job market in the mobile phone industry.
Launching the program on Sunday, Labor and Social Development Minister Mufrej Al-Haqabani said that these girls will be chosen from various orphanages maintained by the ministry under its social welfare program.
”The initiative is planned in accordance with the Vision 2030 program which will provide more job opportunities for women,” he said, pointing out that it is the ardent wish of the ministry for the women to work in a safe environment which should provide them with maximum security and privacy.
Al-Haqabani said that new program will help the orphans learn customer service skills such as effective communications when dealing with women customers. The program will also teach them how to deal with sales and maintenance of mobile phones and accessories.
In accordance with the Saudization target in the mobile sector, Al-Haqabani said these young girls will help boost the nationalization program of the ministry.
The decision to nationalize telecommunications jobs aims to create job opportunities for male and female Saudis, who wish to work in this field, due to the financial benefits and job stability derived from this sector.
