ALKHOBAR: The social organization Ruqi recently feted 85 Saudi student achievers. Among them, 53 students were orphans. The ceremony held at Alqosabi Hotel in Alkhobar was titled “Triumph and Rejoice.”

Ruqi takes care of four neighborhoods in Alkhobar by encouraging students to achieve well in their studies as well as taking care of needy people and some other social programs.

Adeeb Al-Zamil, Ruqi chairperson, said: “This ceremony aimed to give more attention to those who are doing well in their studies especially orphans. We also encourage more integration of orphans in the community for them to be an affective part of society.”

Hanan Batrfi, chairperson of women's committee at Ruqi, said: “The committee has to develop individuals through these kinds of programs and activities. However, those who achieve well in their studies should be rewarded for their work.”

He added: “Our aim at the committee is to guide and encourage individuals to be great people in the community. I appreciate the efforts of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Education, as well as anyone who participates in the committee's mission.”

Sana Al-Jafari, assistant to education director at women's department, said: “Rewarding people for what they have done would actually help to push them ahead to carry on the good work.”
