Pakistan's Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah, who will be heading Pakistan’s Haj delegation, will be in Jeddah on Thursday to sign a formal bilateral agreement with Haj Ministry Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan's Ministry for Religion Affairs Secretary Azam Samma already arrived today to hold meetings with officials of Pakistan Haj Mission and finalize agenda documents for the meeting.

The Haj delegation will meet Saudi Haj Minister Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed bin Hamza Asaad Al-Hajar at his office in Jeddah on Saturday to hold discussions on Haj Agreement 2013 while the agreement signing ceremony will be held on Sunday.

“This is an official meeting to sign the formal bilateral agreement between the two countries on how the arrangements will take place and how the pilgrims will arrive to perform the rituals, this is an agreement which signed by the officials of all the Muslim countries related to Haj,” said Abu Ahmed Shah will also sign the agreement and sub agreement with the company Adlla in Madinah related to the arrangements of the pilgrims in Madinah.

About 180,000 Pakistani pilgrims performed Haj in 2012. Out of the total Haj quota, 50 percent of the pilgrims were allocated to the Government Haj Scheme, which provides an economic package with reasonable facilities for the majority of pilgrims. Khursheed Ahmed Shah also introduced a new schemes of tracking system and a cell phone in collaboration with a cell phone company to offer connectivity facility during the Haj 2012.
