A Pakistani and a Filipino were executed in Riyadh this weekend for different crimes, bringing to 80 the number of people executed in the country this year.

Mohammad Fayad Mohammad Azam of Pakistan was beheaded on Thursday for heroin smuggling, while Carletto Lana of the Philippines executed Friday for killing a Saudi, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The Saudi Press Agency said Lana was convicted of shooting to death Saudi national Nasser Al-Gahtani before running him over with a car.
