Hundreds of Pakistanis have gathered under a bridge on Palestine Street for the third time since Nov. 3 demanding repatriation.

Their numbers swelled to an estimated 2,000 by Saturday evening. Additional security was also deployed at the site.

People at the sit-in said they intend to continue their protest until they are arrested.

Vice Consul for Community Welfare Syed Tahseemul Haq Haqqi negotiated with police officials to shift the Pakistani nationals to the deportation cenetr in Shumaisy. “The Pakistani Consulate is working closely with the Jeddah police to end the crisis and initiate the deportation process,” Haqqi told Arab News.
