JEDDAH: A number of patients at private clinics in Jazan have complained of high cost of health services, and urged the directorate of health affairs to intervene.

Khaled Hakami said he went with his wife to a private clinic and the doctor prescribed some injections. “After the treatment, a large bill amounting to SR2,500 was given to us. However, my wife’s condition didn’t improve at all.”

Ahmad Abdullah said: “Clinics and private medical centers in the area are after material gains and profits, especially since they force patients to take tests and X-rays to double financial profits.”

Nawaf Al-Kadoumi said the high prices in private clinics have been applied to make financial profits without taking into consideration the financial status of patients.
