Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has successfully completed its pre-Haj operation and is now preparing for post-Haj flights, said Iftkhar Ahmed Qurashi, PIA's station manager, on Friday.

He told Arab News that PIA transported 62,458 Pakistani pilgrims on special Haj flights and 5,475 on regular flights. He said 95 percent regular of flights were on time.

“Our success is down to teamwork. We are expecting the same level of cooperation and coordination for post-Haj flights to send pilgrims back home on time, ” said Qurashi.

He explained that post-Haj flights will operate from Oct. 19 to transport pilgrims back home.

He thanked the 420 individuals who came from Pakistan to assist with operations taking place at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah.

He also said that PIA is Pakistan's national carrier and is always ready to serve its people.
