JEDDAH: British authorities have opened investigations into the plane crash that led to the death of three members of the Binladin family.

Investigations depend on the black box which registers the entire plane’s data, including speed, position of mobile parts and communications between the pilot and the control tower.

Experts said the private plane crashed over a car park next to Blackbushe airport in Britain. They found the behavior of the pilot puzzling because the plane climbed to higher altitudes when it was supposed to be descending, it approached the airport at high speed, which led to sudden landing and the plane left the runway with the pilot losing control that caused him to ascend again and crash over the car park.

A British newspaper reported that Afgen Ltd. for aviation safety said the plane was approaching the airport on an altitude of 1,250 feet, but it ascended to 1,750 feet and started to circle the airport, which was the opposite of what was supposed to have happened. The pilot should have continued with the descent.

Dave Reid, director of the company, said according to the manufacturing data, the plane Embraer demands a runway of 799 meters to land on the sea level, while the runway in Blackbushe airport is 1,059 meters, which gave the pilot 250 extra meters.

Sources confirmed that the plane was approaching an unsteady landing with higher altitudes and more speed leaving little distance for the pilot to land. The pilot should have taken an earlier decision not to land and circle around the airport but he landed suddenly and decreased the power of the engines; he only realized later that the decision was too late.
