Passengers of an Air India plane from Jeddah had a narrow escape after one of the plane’s rear tires blew out during landing at Kozhikode airport on Saturday.

All the 369 passengers and the crew on board Jeddah-Calicut flight AI962 are safe, an Air India official told Press Trust of India, after the plane landed at 8.30 a.m.

The incident occurred at the turning pad area of the runway, the official said. The same plane was to fly back to Jeddah.
