Prince Mishaal bin Majed, governor of Jeddah, launched a polio vaccination campaign recently, aiming to raise awareness about the infectious disease (also known as infantile paralysis), its prevention and treatment.

The drive was launched in the presence of Dr. Mubarak bin Hassan bin Zafir, director of health affairs in Jeddah Governorate; Dr. Khaled Bawaked, assistant director of health affairs; and a number of other health experts in the city.

Several children were administered the polio vaccine during the inauguration ceremony at the governor’s office.

Addressing the ceremony, Bin Zafir said: “Prince Mishaal’s support in this regard has greatly contributed to the success of health programs offered to citizens and residents.”
