Second Deputy Premier Prince Muqrin visited the sprawling King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh on Tuesday and emphasized the city’s role in attracting foreign and domestic investment and providing advanced educational, training, housing and recreational facilities for Saudis.

“What I have seen at KAEC is very encouraging,” said the second deputy premier, adding that the modern housing and educational facilities at the city would encourage more Saudis to settle in the city.

Prince Muqrin was accompanied by Education Minister Prince Faisal bin Abdullah, Municipal and Rural Affairs Minister Prince Mansour bin Miteb, Finance Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Transport Minister Jabara Al-Seraisry, Economy and Planning Minister Mohammed Al-Jasser, Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Commerce and Industry Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah and SAGIA Gov. Abdullatif Al-Othman.

The SAGIA chief briefed Prince Muqrin about KAEC and its significant role in attracting foreign investment and promoting transfer of foreign technology. A number of international companies have opened their branches in the city, which is spread over an area of 168 million square meters. It will have the Middle East first privately financed seaport in the Middle East in addition to educational, industrial and housing districts.
