The Health Affairs Department in Jeddah formed an investigative committee consisting of physicians and technical experts to investigate Al-Ahli Hospital in Jeddah. The investigations come on the heels of recent complaints by 20 physicians working at the hospital, to the Labor and Health Affairs Departments, demanding that the center pay their delayed salaries, worth about two million riyals.

Abdul Rahman bin Saad, Jeddah’s Health Affairs Department spokesman, said the committee visited the hospital and met with its physicians and hospital management team. He said the committee will review the complaints to form a decision, and if any problems or deficiencies related to health care are identified, the hospital will be shut down temporally until irregularities are corrected.

Regarding the outstanding salaries of employees and the ongoing financial disputes, bin Saad said the issues are under review by the Labor Department.
