RIYADH: Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Humaidan urged private sector companies to participate in summer training programs organized by its Human Resources Development Fund on a Kingdom-wide basis.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has called for applications from students over 17 years of age from high schools for summer training programs in private sector enterprises.

Quoting the decrees issued for the training program, Al-Humaidan said companies can enroll in the program by accommodating a minimum of 25 students for vocational training during the summer. He said that this is a good opportunity for the private sector to prepare the country’s youths for its Saudization programs.

The summer training program provides training for students (both males and females) in private sector establishments, where the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) obligates private sector establishments, which use 25 workers or more, to accept a ratio from the students (both males and females) to train them and give them skills and practical experience during the summer.

The program offers training packages for students in private enterprises to equip them with the skills and practical experience and rehabilitation to meet the needs of the labor market.

Deputy Director General of Empowerment and Creativity at the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) Mohammed Mosly said training opportunities for students are available in private sector enterprises and and at various training opportunity centers throughout the Kingdom.

Private sector establishments and accredited training centers will offer their services till the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
