DAMMAM: Security forces are fully prepared to protect the homeland and citizens against terrorists and Daesh members, Qatif Gov. Khaled Al-Sufyan has said.
High security measures have been taken to deal with anyone who seeks to target the security and safety of citizens and residents, especially in the month of Muharram, Al-Sufyan said.
During a meeting with the dignitaries of Qatif at the headquarters of the governorate, Al-Sufyan highlighted the importance of full cooperation between citizens and security authorities.
“Only security personnel are responsible for the protection process. However, citizens are strongly urged to report to police any suspicious person or activities, especially during Muharram,” the governor said.
He said citizens must not get involved in confrontation with suspects for their own safety, and they should let policemen handle the situation as they are professionally trained to deal with risks and threats.
Al-Sufyan also called upon sheikhs and preachers, who attended the meeting, to highlight social issues, most notably drugs, divorce, drifting, crimes, robberies and disobedience to parents in their sermons.
