Riyadh Gov. Prince Khaled bin Bandar, and Deputy Gov. Prince Turki bin Abdullah have expressed their appreciation of the National Information Center’s work in providing IT solutions and services to ministries and other governmental organizations, during their visit to the center earlier this week.

Prince Khaled said: “The modern techniques, high-efficiency advanced networks and national cadres managing the technical edifice is a joint achievement of the National Information Center (NIC) and Ministry of Interior and reflect the good care provided by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, and the second deputy premier to the governmental sectors in the Kingdom.”

The deputy governor also expressed his satisfaction with the advanced technical services provided by the center and the hard work displayed by the local staff.

The NIC’s branches across the Kingdom have established it as one of the largest IT centers in the Middle East.

The center was initially created under the name “Computer Center” three decades ago, and was later renamed as the “General Administration of Central Information,” marking its transformation as one of the most important departments in the Ministry of Interior.

A decree issued by the Supreme Committee for Administrative Reform finally changed the name of the center to the National Information Center in the early 1980s.

The center received the support of late Prince Naif in his capacity as Interior Minister.
