Preparations are under way to implement a plan of action against violators of residency laws after the Nov. 3 amnesty deadline.

Maj. Gen. Jamaan Al-Ghamdi, assistant director of public security for security affairs, visited the Police Directorate of the Qassim region on Monday, where he met with Maj. Gen. Badr bin Mohammed Al-Talib, director of the district police.

Capt. Badr Al-Suhaibani, assistant media spokesman for Al-Qassim police, said that the meeting was attended by the assistant police chief and the managers of the branches of the Public Security Department.

Attendees discussed the execution of the work plan to detain violators of residency and work permit laws, clearly defining the duties and functions of public security officials.

Al-Suhaibani said that the meeting also discussed the mechanism of identifying violators and the responsibilities of each party in achieving this objective.

Al-Ghamdi stressed the importance of cooperation among the parties to achieve positive outcomes and for continuous monitoring to identify violators.

Such monitoring, he said, could be achieved by establishing joint missions responsible for identifying and handing over violators to authorities, who would then be responsible for administering appropriate penalties. This has become one of the main responsibilities of public security officials, he said.
