The police, accompanied by Ministry of Labor officials, have arrested thousands of illegals and fined a number of errant employers in raids carried out in Jeddah, Madinah and Hail.

On Tuesday, government officials carried out the operations at Warehouse City, one of the Kingdom’s largest facilities storing imported goods from the Jeddah Islamic Port.

Officials recorded 142 violations and also arrested several illegals who now face deportation and ban.

The raids were carried out after earlier operations by undercover police officers. Inspectors from labor offices in Makkah, Taif, Qunfudah and Leeth participated in the raids. There would be further raids in the coming days, a source said

Other operations were also conducted in the Harraj area, with officials registering 81 violations and fining errant employers.

A total of 865 people were arrested in Madinah last week. A number of neighborhoods, including provinces and villages were raided during which 27,127 people were detained.

Hail Police arrested 868 violators of labor and residence regulations over the past two weeks following continuous inspections and raids.
