JUBAIL: An awareness program for students and parents of Royal Commission for Jubail (RCJ) schools on the importance of attendance paid off, with more than 32,000 pupils turning up on the first day of the new academic year.

According to the RCJ, 32,814 students attended school on Sunday, and they were met by 1,285 educational and administrative staff.

“The total number of learners in the RCJ has reached about 14,905 boys in 24 schools, 14,409 girls in 22 schools, along with 3,500 boys and girls in 22 kindergartens. Books were handed over to the students.”

The RCJ had included an awareness program for students and parents on the importance of attendance from the beginning of the academic year, orientation programs for the first intermediate and secondary stages, as well as orientation week for the first primary grade.

The program also aimed at attracting students to the school through the distribution of free gifts and breakfasts along with sports and games. The new teachers in the RCJ schools were received and assigned their tasks.
