The Republic of Turkey happily celebrates her 91st birthday today.

Turkey now stands as a country with a stable democracy, a dynamic economy, a vibrant civil society and a rich cultural life.

In our external relations, we are much more closely connected with different parts of the world than ever.

We are confident that by 2023, our Republic’s centenary, Turkey will have further consolidated its achievements at home and greatly increased its contributions to international peace, development and prosperity.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia enjoy a deep-rooted relationship.

Turkish-Saudi relations date back for centuries.

We are two brotherly countries bound by strong historical, social and cultural ties.

Since my arrival to this great country almost a year ago, I have had the pleasure of meeting countless Saudi brothers who expressed, in characteristically Saudi eloquence and warmth, this innate sympathy toward Turkey and Turkish culture.

I believe that these mutual feelings between our two nations are a distillation of generations-long interaction.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia are the main pillars for stability in the region.

The depth and diversity of our relations, our joint commitment to stability and well-being of the region, intertwined interests lead our countries to foster the already existing relationship to higher and new levels of cooperation.

Today we are allies and economic partners.

We work very closely on regional and international issues. In a troubled region, this alliance between our countries is ever more relevant and crucial for the regional peace, security and stability.

On this proud occasion, I would like to convey my best wishes to the well-being, prosperity and friendship of the Turkish and Saudi people and to the health and happiness of the leaders of both countries.
