Students in Riyadh were ecstatic over Saudi universities ranking high in the list of best universities in the world for 2014-2015 and expressed overwhelming happiness that King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and King Saud University (KSU) ranked high at 225th and 249th respectively, the best ever.

The QS World University Rankings, an annual university ranking system published by the Quacquarelli Symonds of the United Kingdom, adjudged KFUPM and KSU as the best among the Arab universities.

Ecstatic over the jump in the ranking, Mansour Elhabonym, a bachelor’s student at KSU said, “it is really great that our universities are doing well as against other good universities in the Arab countries, which makes us feel proud of the great achievement in the education sector.”

Another student, Saad Khalid said, “being a student myself, it gives me immense pleasure to hear that our universities are doing well in global ranking and the students pursuing higher studies in these university’s are enrolled with the best university’s in the world.”

“It is a reflection of hard work done in these university’s by the students and the faculty members, which were acknowledged by the QS World University Rankings.”

Perwaiz Alam, a research associate, hailed the good rankings for KSA universities saying, “It is indeed a very big achievement.’

“These universities are giving a lot of weight to research and developments to achieve greater academic excellence,” he added.
