Riyadh plans to host the first nursing conference under the motto of “Creativeness of Nursing in GCC” to be organized jointly by the College of Nursing at King Saud University (KSU) and the Executive Office of the GCC Health Ministers, Saudi Press Agency said.

The two-day event beginning on May 4 will be attended by elite nurses, students and nursing officials from the GCC countries, head of the executive office Tawfiq Khojah said.

The conference will focus mainly on creative strategies aimed to develop the teaching of nursing, raise its quality, encourage scientific research and get acquainted with nursing initiatives in the GCC countries, he said.

In addition, a number of topics will be discussed in the conference such as nursing education, outcome of nursing research and the development of the nursing profession, he added. The conference is considered the fruit of the joint health cooperation among the GCC countries which aims to raise the level of profession in this field, he pointed out.
