RIYADH: Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, deputy chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Princess Al-Anoud Philanthropic Foundation (PAPF), has emphasized the important role of the Saudi youth in building a vibrant society and leading the Kingdom toward greater prosperity and development.

Prince Saud made his comments on Saturday at a PAPF event honoring a number of Saudi youth who participated in the radio program “My story” on UFM station, which conveyed their stories of struggle and success.

Prince Saud said: “The history of the establishment of a unified homeland was led by King Abdul Aziz and achieved by the arduous efforts of the Saudi youth. Our success today is a reflection of the strong determination and the sacrifices made by those young men, who laid the cornerstones for our prosperous nation.”

The event was attended by Labor Minister Adel Fakeih, and during the event the minister and Al-Anoud Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

According to Fakeih, “the MoU will tackle a number of issues that deal with the youths' concerns and the labor market, including training packages and rehabilitation programs.”

The MoU will also grant a copyright and printing license for the radio program “My story”. The handbook on the “Principles of Success” will also be published by the Ministry of Labor and distributed to Hafez applicants, as well as the Human Resources Development Fund, to inspire other fellow youths by the success stories of their peers.

Speaking on his part, Fakeih explained that the Ministry of Labor has worked on a large number of initiatives, aiming to have the greatest number of Saudis replace the expatriate workers.

Among these initiatives is the plan to allocate sufficient efforts to identify the desirable traits that would help pave the way to integrate young men and women into the labor market. Fakeih also added that the Ministry has issued a series of media programs that shed light on the experiences of young Saudis working in the private sector and their success stories, linking these stories to the desirable work ethic, discipline and determination required in the work force.

Fakeih commended the efforts of Princess Al Anoud Foundation and Warif Center for Youth Development in working for the youth. He added: “By signing the MoU, both parties have confirmed their commitment to this cause and their desire to work with all parties for the benefit and welfare of the Saudi youth.”

Al-Anoud Foundation sponsored the radio program “My Story”, and Warif Center for Youth Development implemented the project.

The foundation will also be sponsoring the cost of performing the Haj pilgrimage for 140 Saudis.
