JEDDAH: Saudis will never forget the royal decrees by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman shortly after he came to power.

Of great importance was the choice of Prince Mohammed bin Naif as crown prince. The second great decision was to appoint Prince Mohammed bin Salman as deputy crown prince.

These decisions showed the extent of King Salman’s desire to assign major tasks to the young and encourage them to take on senior leadership positions in the Kingdom.

That desire has founded and painted the outlines of a future state which will mean pumping fresh blood and fresh ways of thinking into the system.

This insight of King Salman was praised and deemed impressive both nationally and internationally.

These royal decisions, taken exactly a year ago on April 29, 2015, were of prime importance as they represented the empowering of youth and motivating them to be aware of their future and have a hand in creating change, development and prosperity and planning for a better future.

At the same time, these decisions confirmed the transfer of power and its smooth transition according to rulings as well as Shariah laws. The two appointments have also reaffirmed the strength of the country, which lives in turbulent surroundings and amid global changes in the region and the rest of the world.

The decisions also demonstrate that the leadership of this country will never live in isolation from the rest of the world. It seeks progress in all fields, taking fresh blood as the way to this development.
