JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia has condemned the terror attack on Friday close to the Louvre museum in Paris, in which a man attacked a group of soldiers with a machete.

An official source at the Foreign Ministry today expressed in the strongest words Saudi Arabia’s denunciation of the “terror offensive” in the French capital.

The source confirmed the Kingdom’s allegiance with France in confronting terrorism, according to a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Egypt also denounced the terror offensive, with its Foreign Ministry calling on the world community to intensify efforts to combat the terror threat.

French investigators believe the man who launched the attack outside the Louvre is a 29-year-old Egyptian who entered the country on a tourist visa.
