The Saudi pavilion at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2015 attracted huge attention on Sunday.

On display are books relating to religious, intellectual, literary, historical and civilization aspects of the Kingdom.

Saud Al-Sati, Saudi ambassador to India, opened the Kingdom’s pavilion at the international book fair on Saturday.

Al-Sati toured various stalls at the 72-square-meter pavilion, which displays hundreds of titles that feature the product of Saudi scientific and cultural movement as well as the Kingdom’s efforts in the service of Islam.

Neyaz Ata, a regular visitor to the pavilion at the annual book fair, told Arab News in an e-mail reply that people were seen in huge numbers taking keen interest in Saudi religious and intellectual aspects.

“Visitors from all sections of Indian society were at the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Qur’an,” he said.

Earlier, the book fair was inaugurated by Smriti Irani, the Indian minister for human resource and development. About 50 countries are taking part in the book fair.

It is India’s oldest book fair. The first New Delhi World Book Fair was held with 200 participants in 1972.
