ABHA: A Saudi engineering student has developed a video game which he has now put up on the Apple Store for download.

Abdul Rahman Al-Kayyal said he took eight months, with the help of friends, to design and create the game called “INKY Death Road,” which requires gamers to score goals in nets placed on the opposite sides of busy roads.

There is a distinct Saudi flavor to the game, with cars similar to those driven on roads in the Kingdom, and other sights and sounds of the country. Al-Kayyal said he was exhausted when he completed the game.

“I have not yet caught up on all the sleep I missed. I used my spare time, while studying mechanical engineering in America for the past eight months, to learn programming. Then I began collaborating with my friends in Saudi Arabia to complete the game properly,” he said.

He said he introduced the game to many video game fanatics in America, who were impressed with the design and difficulty. “I love the challenge of video games. When I thought of designing a game, I wanted to challenge fans to achieve the highest levels.”

He said that he has also informed the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity about the game.
