RIYADH: More than 500 Saudis got jobs in the hospitality sector through a forum organized by the Center for Tourism Human Resources Development (Takamul).
A Takamul official on Sunday said that the center organized the forum for the hospitality sector jobs in Makkah recently.
The three-day forum was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) and private partners of Takamul, he said.
The forum, attended by a large number of male and female citizens, provided the jobs through 22 tourism facilities at various administrative levels, he said.
The official said that the heavy turnout at the forum reflected the increased awareness among Saudis on job opportunities in the private sector in general and the tourism sector in particular.
“This would raise the contribution of Takamul in the management and operation of the accommodation sector.”
The official disclosed that the forum employed 247 citizens — male and female — for direct jobs in the first phase before completing the interviews of specialized and technical positions in various hotel headquarters.
The forum also saw the signing of four agreements between the HRDF and a number of private sector partners of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH).
