RIYADH: Extremely hot weather touching 40° Celsius has not prevented special forces personnel for security of Haj and Umrah to render services to thousands of pilgrims inside the Grand Mosque.
“Security forces assist the pilgrims in every possible way as well as greet them as they enter the Grand Mosque to pray during the holy month of Ramadan,” said Brig. Gen. Dr. Abdullah Nasser Ghafis, commander of the security forces for Haj and Umrah.
He also noticed the efficiency and creativity of these security forces in dealing with pilgrims of different cultures and nationalities who speak different languages.
He added, “A few were people with special needs who communicated through sign language, but the security forces have managed to renders services to them.”
He said that for different languages, as well as sign language, security force personnel had been sent for training in the Kingdom or abroad.
“The security forces have undergone intensive training so that they can cope with different situations during Haj or Umrah as they render assistance to different pilgrims from different countries,” he said.
He said that he was satisfied with the way the security forces had set about and discharged their respective tasks in connection with the holy month of Ramadan this year.
“The security forces have become familiar with the tasks assigned them as a result of the experience they have gained over the years in assisting pilgrims,” he said.
He expressed his gratitude to all who have given their support so that the security forces could cope with their responsibilities to pilgrims during Umrah and Haj.
