The Shoura Council has lauded the initiative of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for launching Operation Decisive Storm in Yemen.

The note of appreciation was read out at the start of the 25th session of the Shoura, which was chaired by Abdullah Al-Asheikh, the body’s president, on Monday.

Condemning the actions of the Houthis, the Shoura stated that the Kingdom’s initiative would help defeat the rebels and reinstate the country’s legitimate ruler.

The members also thanked the Saudi armed forces and other members of the coalition, under the leadership of Prince Muhammed bin Salman, minister of defense, chief of the Royal Court, and special adviser to the king.

The Shoura also thanked the international community for supporting the action, including the other Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Arab states.

Following the vote of appreciation, the Shoura called on the Saudi Credit and Savings Bank (SCSB) to lay down clear-cut rules for the evaluation and assessment of projects.

Yahya bin Abdullah Al-Samaan, assistant speaker, said Shoura members urged the SCSB to expand the national center for small and medium enterprises and build a database for their projects.

Earlier, the council listened to a report by its financial committee based on the annual report of the SCSB for the year 1434/1435 read out by the committee chairman Husam Al-Anqari.

Later, the Shoura called on the Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) to complete the application for the approval of its structure.
