Anees Ahmed Sindi has been appointed deputy commander of the Ministry of Health’s Command and Control Center (CCC), according to an MoH announcement.

Acting Minister of Health and Commander of the CCC Adel Fakeih has made the appointment.

“Sendi, a respectable physician and researcher, has made significant contributions to the ongoing response to MERS-CoV. The appointment underscores the ministry’s commitment to preparedness for and comprehensive response to health threats,” the announcement said.

Before this appointment, Sindi was acting commander of the CCC and leader of its clinical operations platform, one of 11 platforms of the center, in addition to serving in the minister’s scientific advisory board.
