Niqa (purity), the anti-smoking charity organization, has received a donation for SR1.1 million from the National Industrialization Company in aid of its projects.

Suliman bin Abdulrahman Al-Sibi and Ebrahim Al-Arnoos, representatives from the National Industrialization Company, handed over the cheque for the grant to Mohammed bin Suliman Maayouf, general manager of Niqa, on Tuesday, in a show of support for the organization’s awareness and therapy healing programs.

Maayouf praised the efforts of the National Industrialization Company in endorsing the organization’s projects, noting that company is a role model in terms of social responsibility.

The general manager explained that the aim of the organization is to provide assistance to smokers who want to quit the habit and to raise awareness about the health hazards of smoking.

Niqa is striving to develop a spirit of cooperation and teamwork among individuals and civic organizations, he added, to reduce the prevalence of smoking in society, especially among the youth.

The National Industrialization Co. donated two buses, with the capacity for 50 passengers, which the organization has converted into mobile clinics with the latest technology to assist smokers quit and provide them with therapy heeling sessions.

Maayouf underlined that the cooperation of private establishments with charitable organizations creates effective partnerships that serve the community and deliver positive results. He added that Niqa would continue to strengthen its partnerships with the private sector to expand its scope of work and deliver more programs.

The Ministry of Social Affairs represented by the assistant secretary for social development has also sponsored the organization’s programs.
