Students at the Sri Lankan International School displayed their skills through an exhibition organized by the institution during the weekend to mark its silver jubilee this year.

Sardar Wahidullah, chief financial officer of Al-Rabie Foods Company inaugurated the event in the presence of Sri Lankan Ambassador Vaidvel Krishnamoorthy.

Children from all classes including the pre-school students presented more than 500 exhibits.

Speaking on the occasion, School Principal Mohammed Nazeer said the teachers have extended their best cooperation to harness the hidden talents of the students.

“Some of the exhibits are state-of-the art finished products,” he said, thanking the parents, students and teachers who lent their support to make the event a grand success.

“We have lined up a chain of activities as part of the silver jubilee celebrations,” the principal said, adding that a special committee comprising teachers, parents and well wishers has been formed to carry out the necessary arrangement for the celebration.

The school has some 1,100 students and it was the first Sri Lankan School to be established off the Island’s shores. The school was set up during the tenancy of Ambassador Aboobucker Lebbe Hashim with the assistance of a few philanthropists and social workers.
