Residents of Al-Mowazzefin district in Abha have complained that there are increasing numbers of stray camels and cattle pens causing a nuisance and foul smell near their homes.

Ali Ahmed Asiri, a local resident, accused the Asir municipality of doing nothing about the problem despite many complaints from residents.

“We demand the municipality remove these pens from residential areas and not let the animals roam around destroying gardens and causing road accidents,” he said.

He said some of the animals seem to have illnesses, which can affect the health of residents.
