The Ministry of Education will open up 200 summer clubs for girls across provinces and governorates. Girls will practice sports and other fitness exercise in these clubs.

This comes at a time when the Ministry of Education has handed over the supervision of summer clubs to Tatweer to develop education. “Tatweer” will open 610 clubs for girls and boys tomorrow and will give them financial allowance.

Through Tatweer, the ministry is requiring educational administrations to allocate a 25 to 50 percent of the total number of summer clubs to girls. Tatweer for Educational Services will take care of allocating financial support for each club according to its categories.

The ministry has put in place a number of regulations for girls to be able to practice sports, like providing suitable places that are equipped for this purpose and limiting activities to suit different age groups. Girls should dress modestly and must have their parents’ permission to join.

Mohammad Al-Mirshed, deputy director for the education administration in the Riyadh region for educational affairs, said summer camps are one of many programs the Ministry of Education offers to the students of the area to invest their time fruitfully. These programs demand extra effort and benefit those who participate in them.

During a meeting with the directors of summer clubs in Riyadh, Al-Mirshed said summer school programs will improve the academic performance of students. He called upon parents to encourage their children to enroll in these clubs and take part in its programs and activities. He stressed these clubs are open to everyone under the direct supervision of high-ranking educational leaderships.
