Some 92.04 percent of young Saudis have stressed the need to attend pre-marital courses in order to qualify them for marriage, local media said quoting a survey. However, nearly 5.63 percent of the respondents said they see no need to attend such courses. The survey was conducted by the Riyadh-based Social Awareness and Qualification Society (Wai).

For his part, the supervisor of the Family Happiness Program (FHP) and family expert Sheikh Mazin Al-Firaih said that the project has launched a course dubbed as “family command license” on how to run marital relations.

The program, jointly carried out with Salim bin Mahfouz Charity Foundation, is meant to provide the basics of family building principles, he said.

The program has so far organized some 46 training courses with the attendance of 2,606 young male and female Saudis. “The Saudi society has become more aware of the importance of such courses,” he noted.

The family expert said that the courses are destined for the newly-married couples, those who are about to marry, or for working staff at family consultancy centers, he said.
