RIYADH: Governor of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad Al-Ibrahim said that sufficient measures have been taken to ensure water availability during the summer season.
“All production and distribution centers in the water sector have been informed regarding the increased need for water during the summer season,” he said, adding that “they’re ready to cope with the demand.”
Al-Ibrahim, also the chief executive officer of the National Water Company (NWC), added that plans have been drawn up for implementation during the summer period.
“These plans will be implemented with the end in view of rendering service to citizens in accordance with the directives and aspirations of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman,” he said.
He added that it’s also in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 plan.
Al-Ibrahim said that the SWCC and the NWC had formed a working group to face any water shortages during the summer period and determine water shares to be pumped to the Makkah region.
“We’re are aware of the importance of water to our citizens and we’re making sure that it will be available at a time when there’s a great demand for it,” he said.
He also expressed thanks to all SWCC and NWC staff as well as others who have, in one way or another, helped to ensure that water will be available during the summer season.
When Al-Ibrahim assumed his post as NWC CEO, he said that his main priorities included meeting and securing citizens’ needs for water.
“This is in addition to raising the level of services, improving the work environment to increase productivity, and developing the company’s programs to preserve citizens’ rights and provide them with the required services,” he said.
