RIYADH: A group of companies based in the Saudi capital recently expressed its interest in recruiting Saudi women as part of its participation in the government’s National Transition Program (NTP).
The NTP provides the first detailed targets of Saudi Vision 2030, in which the Kingdom aims to cut state spending on salaries and raise non-oil revenues as the cornerstone of a comprehensive plan to diversify the economy.
The group, Taqat Center, disclosed its plan during an iftar recently attended by various guests who included representatives from both the government and private sectors.
“Taqat Center aims to increase employment opportunities for women in accordance with the needs of the local labor market in the coming days,” a group representative said.
He also discussed solutions to increase women’s career opportunities. He said that Taqat Center is one of the local firms in the private sector which has shown interest in employing women through the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
He added that Taqat Center will undertake the project under the auspices of the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) which helps those involved in the preparation, training and employment of the national workforce, especially in the private sector.
He noted that the HRDF also shares the expenses of training and employing the national workforce in the private sector.
“It also pays a percentage of the salary of any trainee hired by a private firm after he finishes his training. The same will be done for new recruits of the firm,” he said.
He also said that the HRDF also offers financial assistance for programs and studies aimed to employ Saudis and help them take the place of expatriate workers.
