The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) has warned Saudi teachers against signing contracts at private schools for less than the minimum wage of SR5,600. It said school owners are accountable for failing to implement the royal decree regarding the minimum wage for teachers.

The teachers who registered through the Unified Contract System should receive this amount which is in line with a royal decree and should not accept less than the stated amount. The HRDF supports the minimum salary and will ensure that teachers obtain their rights.

The Fund’s financial support for Saudis’ salaries (paying a part of their salary) encompasses the private sectors’ jobs including managers. The Unified Contract System defines the responsibilities of the Education and Labor Ministries and private schools.

The HRDF guarantees full payment of salaries to private school teachers who have met the conditions of the Ministry of Education.

The HRDF also participated in the career day for graduates of the King Abdullah Scholarship Program in the United States providing 4,000 jobs in the private sector, with salaries ranging between SR8,000 and SR30,000.
