JEDDAH: Arabic newspapers in Saudi Arabia suggested that the terrorists who perpetrated the heinous crime at a mosque in Asir on Thursday are foreign parties aiming to destabilize the Kingdom.

According to an editorial in Okaz on Friday, the attack revealed the ugly face of the terrorists who sold their religion, their homeland and their people to the devil.

“The nefarious design of the terrorists is to weaken Saudi Arabia’s central role in bringing together and unifying the Arab states for a common cause,” said Okaz. “These terrorists have deviated from the path of truth, justice and moderation. They have become tools in the hands of forces inimical to the interests of the Kingdom.”

The newspaper said the terrorist will fail in the face of a cohesive society that is ready to protect the homeland.

“This crime will bolster the resolve of the Saudi people to defeat this scourge of terrorism by remaining united and standing firm with the leadership,” it said.

Writing in Al-Watan, Tariq Ibrahim said: “Daesh is thinking that its access to a mosque in the Special Emergency Forces Center is a sign of its success. However, just the opposite has happened.
