More than 3,668 students have entered the “My Country in My Eyes” art contest to express their feelings for their homeland on Saudi National Day.

The Saudi Arts Council organized the contest. Princess Jawaher bint Majed bin Abdulaziz, president of the board, with fellow directors, had sought the help of local education departments to set up the competition.

The entries came from students at schools, kindergartens and those catering for children with special needs.

Nadia Asaad Zuhair, a board member and supervisor of the contest, said the competition was aimed at encouraging young people to express their loyalty to their country and king through art.

Hamza Sairafi, a member of the judge’s panel and board member, said that he was happy with the number of students who participated and the quality of entries.

The Saudi Arts Council board includes Mona Khaznadar, Ayah Ali Reza, Sarah Ali Reza, Sharifah Al-Sudairi, Nawaf Al-Nassar, Basma Al-Sulaiman, Abdullah Al-Turki, Sarah bin Laden, Issa Bogari, Raneem Farsi, Mohammed Hafiz, Hamza Sairafi, Hayat Shobokshi and Faisal Tamr.
