Security authorities along the Northern Border have arrested three young men who escaped from a social corrections house in Arar Tuesday, with efforts underway to find two other individuals.

The five young detainees were able to escape from the house at dawn on Tuesday, after they broke a window. Col. Owaied Al-Anzi, spokesman of the Northern Border Police, said the police in Tarif Province arrested one man near his home in the center of the province, while security authorities in Arar arrested two others hiding in Al-Mansuriya neighborhood.

According to a supervisor at the facility, who preferred to remain anonymous, the young detainees were able to escape from the building with ease because it was not designed to be such a facility with proper security features.

He said the facility's management is working on remodeling the building and has reported its efforts to the Social Affairs Ministry. He said the ministry had approved the establishment of a new building, but the project was halted in 2014 because of problems with the construction company.
