Riyadh police have arrested two Saudis and a Yemeni for their alleged involvement in the murder of four Saudis in three different incidents that took place in the region, said police spokesman Col. Fawaz Al-Maiman.

In the first incident that took place in the Naseem district, a 26-year-old Yemeni was arrested for setting the flat of his step mother on fire, resulting in the death of the 37-year-old Saudi woman and her seven-year-old daughter. It also injured another daughter of the woman aged five.

Civil Defense officers who extinguished the fire suspected criminal motive behind the fire after they smelt petrol. Criminal investigators later found that the Yemeni was behind the blaze as he used petrol to set fire to the flat following an argument with the woman.

Al-Maiman said Tamir police reported the death of another Saudi aged 33 from stab wounds. A nurse at Majmaa Hospital told police that the man was stabbed by mentally ill 44-year-old Saudi. Police later arrested the man and admitted him to a mental hospital, he added.

The third incident occurred in Muzahamiya where police found the body of a 30-year-old Saudi man inside a rest house. Witnesses said the man was shot dead by a 29-year-old man who ran away from the site after committing the crime. Police later arrested the man, a drug addict.
